If you read my blog, you’ll know that I agonized for a little while
over whether or not to buy a wireless modem to use with my MacBook
Air during my commute, all the way to its arrival before I headed
out to CES in early January, including some trials and tribulations
with AT&T in between. I’ve now had the modem for several months
and have had ample opportunity to see how well it works in order to
write a review. While it's not as fast as I'd like in all
situations, it puts out satisfactory performance in most situations
I've encountered. Read my full review here.
A quick update on my V-Moda Vibe Duo headphones, which I reviewed
here: they died on me a couple of weeks ago.
This was the replacement pair I received in August 2008 after the
first pair I had purchased in October 2007 crapped out on me under
warranty. At this point, I can no longer recommend the V-Modas
since they don’t seem to last long at all. I’ve recently ordered
the Apple In-Ear headphones with Remote & Mic to replace them.
They should arrive any day and I’m planning on reviewing
them.
As I mentioned in my recent review of the DecalGirl iPhone 3G skin, I
received a Maya pouch case from the great folks at Proporta to
review. This is a straightforward slip case that comes in a variety
of colors. Reasonably priced at $20, it does a fine job of
protecting your iPhone when it's in a pocket or bag, but it may not
be perfect for all users – read my review to find out
why.
If you're like me and can't bear the thought of your iPhone
completely naked but still need some level of protection from
scratches, a skin is an ideal accessory. I needed a skin to use
while testing a slip case for my iPhone and decided I wanted
something with a design versus a clear skin and I selected a skin
from DecalGirl.com. At just $6.99 + shipping, their skins are
priced very reasonably and they offer over 300 designs from which
to choose. While their skins don't offer full coverage, they are
nice and get the job done. You can read my full review here.
I blog fairly frequently, so if you want to know what’s going on
with me, check out my Blog. Better yet, subscribe to my RSS feed - this gets updated with every blog post and
new review and is your best bet to know when there’s something new
on macgirl.net immediately.
